Morphicon 2004

Morphicon is a new convention in Columbus,
Ohio that I had the honor of working with this year, as convention
chair. This involved a lot of running around with my head cut off
(well, figuratively speaking).

You'll notice a lot of my pictures are of Georgia Belle, a lovely fursuit by Kitt Foxx that (I believe) both Kitt Foxx and Steve Plunkett performed in at one time or another. The head is animatronic--the eyes open and close, and look left and right, and the muzzle is articulated for speaking. It's frightfully realistic. I purchased a dance with her in the charity Pet Store event, but found myself nearly swooning during the dance itself. I've never known a suit to have that sort of effect on me, but judge for yourself; we cut a rug in the images to the left. Besides, I'm really not used to dancing with another woman! The turnout was much larger than we expected, with 120 registrations in full. It was still a small convention, but very fun. Highlights included a diverse array of spirituality programming and other unique panels, several fursuiting and puppetry events, a charity Pet Store game, a judged masquerade, a furry variety show, a mini silent charity art auction, a well-stocked hospitality room, and dealers and artists in our dealer's room.
Despite all the work that had to be done, I still had a blast! We're already preparing for next year's convention.
